Kanda area
Kanda is an averagely populated middle and high-income area a few kilometres northeast of the city centre.
It has both old and modern buildings and there are basic services such as water and electricity.
Telephone lines can be installed on request. The area is home to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), the national television and radio stations, a private television station, TV3, the Accra Zoo and a handful of embassies. There are schools, clinics and churches (Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Charismatic, Pentecostal and Evangelical); local Muslims attend the mosque on the Kanda Highway.
Nightlife is limited and there are no markets and only a handful of shops and residents go to nearby Osu for their shopping and entertainment. Trotros and taxis link Kanda to the city centre. There is absolutely no traffic.
