The police in Accra have issued a warning to owners of vehicles to make sure they know their chassis number in order to make cars easier to find when stolen. Registration numbers are quickly changed, advise the police, so knowing a chassis number makes it easier to trace stolen vehicles.

The police have also advised owners to engrave parts of the car, such as mirrors, windscreens and lights, with the vehicle
