The All Africa Dance Festival for Peace is scheduled in Nairobi from 3-5 December at the Sarakasi Dome, Ngara. This is the second edition of the festival and the theme this year is Celebrating the Role of Cultural Dance in Peace Building and Cultural Understanding.

The festival involves dance and musical performances by about 100 groups and 500 artists. The opening keynote address will be by the minister of national heritage and culture.

During the three-day festival there will be workshops on subjects such as the impact of dance in peace education, storytelling in dance and drama, training for dance choreographers and producers in peace building, arts approaches to peace building. The festival also tackles more general topics such as the impact of bad governance, the role of creative industries in Africa, women, peace building and community engagement.

There will be dance performances and participants from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya and Brazil.
