Art in Cape Town bus stations

MyCiTi stations across Cape Town enlivened with artworks.

Cape Town has completed its MyCiTi art project to transform the city's bus stations with more than 50 artworks‚ from works on paper and canvas to mosaics‚ sculptures‚ ceramics and street art.

The project is based on similar schemes on public transport systems in New York‚ London, Moscow and Sao Paulo.

The project's themes include the environment, urbanisation and migration, with work by internationally acclaimed South African artists such as Sue Williamson and Faith47 exhibited alongside lesser-known figures from the local art world.

Full details of the project, and the artists, including an interactive link, are available on the MyCiTi website.
