The inaugural Arusha International Festival for Arts and Culture will be held from 20-28 October in various locations around Arusha.
The nine-day event, to be known as Jambo Festival 2012, provides a platform for those involved in traditional African arts and culture.
The scheduled events include an arts symposium, cultural and fashion shows, art exhibitions and a street carnival whose participants will dress in traditional costumes representing all the communities of Tanzania.
The festival begins with practitioners of music, film and traditional dance at the Via-Via open theatre on Boma Road, before moving to the Nyerere Gardens of Kijenge, adjacent to the Impala Hotel.
