Beauty pageant in Lagos.

Eko Hotel Lagos is to host a beauty pageant and contest on 4 August to promote traditional fashion and music in the state. Contestants will be drawn from 20 local government areas in Lagos, must speak Yoruba and have been born and brought up in the region. The winner will take away a return ticket to London as well as modelling contracts and cash prizes.

Promoted by the Lagos state ministry of tourism, the event will be used to boost local fashion labels and designers. It will be presented by Nigerian comedians Tee-A, Teju Baby Face, Basket Mouth and Gandoki and will also feature live performances by leading highlife musicians Fatai Rolling Dollar, Lagbaja, Tosin Martins, Beautiful Nubia and K1 D Ultimate.
