Ghanaian bee-keepers and representatives of the business community and non-governmental organisations in Ghana, Togo, South Africa and Uganda are to take part in a workshop on beekeeping in the capital Accra from 20-21 November. The meeting, organised by the International Beekeeping Research Association (IBRA) in conjunction with the Tropical Agricultural Marketing and Consultancy Service (TRAGRIMACS) and Sunflower Ghana, an NGO, will introduce participants to recent research and modern bee-keeping techniques and equipment to boost honey production in the country. The two-day programme also involves field trips to study apiaries established by IBRA in Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region and Akatsi in the Volta Region.
