A school teaching Chinese language and history has opened in Six October City about 30 km northwest of Cairo. The school, built at a cost of $4 million with funding from the Chinese government, is the first institution of its kind in Egypt. Its creation is part of efforts by China to strengthen cooperation with developing countries. Other projects in the pipeline in Egypt include the creation of schools in rural areas.
