Ethiopia and Oman sign codeshare deal

Ethiopian Airlines, the national carrier of Ethiopia, has signed a codeshare partnership with Oman Air, Oman's national airline.

The agreement covers flights between Addis Ababa and Oman's capital Muscat, building on the four weekly flights already provided between the two cities by Ethiopian Airlines.

Commuters coming from Oman will have access to Ethiopian Airlines' 60 African cities, including its domestic airports in Ethiopia, while those travelling from Ethiopia have the option of flying to any one of Oman Air’s 42 global destinations, via Muscat.

A codeshare is an aviation business term whereby two or more airlines share the same flight. The agreement allows greater access to destinations within an airline's network and makes connections easier.
