A R425 million extension is underway at the GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in the Goodwood area east of the city centre. The project includes the creation of a ten-lane bowling alley, additional restaurants and an undercover car park for 1,200 vehicles, as well as the construction of a 5,000-seat Super Bowl. Speaking to the on-line portal for entertainment Tonight, GrandWest divisional director Kurt Peter said the venue is designed to host a range of events from live music concerts to banquets and sporting events and is due for completion in September 2007. The existing casino, restaurants, ice rink, theatre, cinema and dance venues at the six-year-old establishment currently attract around 450,000 people per month.
