Thirty-eight senior opposition figures have been found guilty of charges ranging from armed rebellion to outrage against the constitution in connection with post-election violence in 2005. They include the mayor-elect of Addis Ababa, Berhanu Nega. Sentencing is due on 8 July and could include the death penalty.
