Gulf Air is suspending its flights between Bahrain and Nairobi indefinitely, effective from 13 November. The Bahrain-based carrier made the decision to axe the service, which was only launched in July 2011, as part of an ongoing restructuring process.
The company said the move was one of the conditions attached to a bail-out from the Bahraini government amounting to half a billion dollars.
Gulf Air passengers booked to fly to Nairobi after 12 November or flying from Nairobi to Bahrain after 13 November are being offered either a full refund or assistance in finding an alternative way to reach their destination.
In February Gulf Air discontinued its operations from Ugandan capital Entebbe under similar circumstances.
