Nairobi city council has given owners of illegal advertising billboards 48 hours to secure a licence or see them pulled down. The measure affects billboards erected without the approval of the city authorities on Airport, Mombasa, Ngara, Muthithi and Masari roads. Advertisers that could be affected by the move include Barclays Bank of Kenya, General Motors, Cable Television Network, Celtel and Coca Cola. Local newspaper
