Cape Town is hoping that the new James Bond movie is to be filmed in the city.

The 23rd Bond film was supposed to have been shot on location in India but was abandoned when official sanctions took too long to secure. The production company had wished to film stunt sequences which would have involved blocking sections of rail track in Ahmedabad and Goa in western India.

Now producers are said to be looking closely at South Africa as a new location, and they are being lobbied by the Cape Town Film Commission to shoot the movie in Cape Town. The commission
