The annual Karibu travel and tourism fair takes place in Arusha from 5-8 June. Jointly organised by the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators, the Tanzania tourist board and the ministry of natural resources and tourism, the fair is reputedly one of the largest tourism events in east Africa. In 2007 it attracted over 200 exhibitors from different regions and countries including Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom, the United States, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda as well as Tanzania. For full details see the Karibu website.

Early June is going to be a busy time in Arusha, which will also be hosting the Sullivan Summit on social and economic development in Africa from 2-6 June. The two events come hot on the heels of the 33rd annual congress of the African Travel Association (ATA), also in Arusha from 19-23 May. For details see news and events.
