Thousands of Malays and Islamic leaders, businesspeople, academics and cultural activists will be in Cape Town 30 July-3 August for a meeting titled Opportunities on trade, tourism and education between the Muslim Malays in South Africa, Melaka and the whole Muslim Malay community. Organised by the Malay and Islamic World Secretariat (MIWS), the event will be attended by people from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, the Philippines, Madagascar, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa in particular. It aims to give the local Muslim business community in South Africa the opportunity to find international partners and strengthen trade ties, with a special emphasis on small and medium industry entrepreneurs.
