Leading international financial services company Morgan Stanley has said that it is seeking regulatory approval to open an office in Cairo in an attempt to consolidate its existing presence in North Africa and the Middle East. The company has also announced the appointment of former Morgan Stanley employee and hedge fund manager Amr Diab as executive director and country representative for the Egypt office. It is not clear when exactly the office is scheduled to open.

Morgan Stanley has over 600 offices in 31 countries offering a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management, wealth management and credit services.
