Visa card holders with overseas accounts will soon be able to withdraw money through state-owned Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) cash points in Addis Ababa, Ethiopias private English-language paper The Daily Monitor reports. The service, the result of a partnership between CBE and Visa International, will be available at ATMs (automated teller machines) at eight CBE branches and at the Addis Hilton and Bole international airport. Until now it has only been possible to withdraw money from a foreign bank account using a credit card at private banks in Ethiopia. Foreign banks are still not allowed to operate in the country.
