The Dubai-based Emirates airline is to introduce a three times weekly scheduled service to Addis Ababa as of 27 March. Emirates flight EK723 will take off from Dubai international airport every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 08.25, arriving in the Ethiopian capital at 11.30 local time. Return flight EK724 will depart Addis Ababa on the same days at 19.35, landing in Dubai at 00.45 the following morning. In announcing the new service, Emirates chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said he hoped it would boost growing trade between the United Arab Emirates and the East Africa region. The service is due to expand to a daily flight in December.
