A medical centre offering free treatment is under construction in the Orile-Agege area of Lagos. Located on Amodu Road, the Clinic of Hope will cost N50 million to build and should be ready for commissioning by June 2010. The project is being financed by a foundation linked to chief Otunba Niyi Raheem, who made an unsuccessful bid for the governorship of Lagos state with the opposition party Action Congress in 2007. Facilities will include free consultation, a medical laboratory, an operating theatre and a maternity ward.
