A new shopping centre has opened in the Habte Giorgis area between Mercato and Piassa in central Addis Ababa. The 30 million birr project has eight storeys and over 90 rooms, of which 90 per cent have already been rented. The facility contains shops, restaurants and offices and for now has a 60-place car park, although the project developer, local company Kurtu International, is planning to build an additional four-storey facility in due course.
