Veteran Mozambican photographer Ricardo Rangel has been admitted as an officer to the French Order of Arts and Literature for his contribution to the evolution of photography in Mozambique and cultural relations with France. He is the first Mozambican citizen to be given the recognition. One of the main showcases for his activity over the years has been the French-Mozambican cultural centre in the capital, which will be presenting a retrospective exhibition of his work in early 2008.
