P&O Maritime Wins Contract in Maputo

Ports company P&O Maritime FZE has won the contract to provide specialist shipping and marine logistics services at the port of Maputo.

The firm is a subsidiary of the Dubai-based giant DP World which operates more than 60 terminals across six continents, and was founded in 2005 when Dubai Ports Authority merged with Dubai Ports International.

P&O has pledged to increase efficiency at Maputo's burgeoning port which is a major export gateway for Mozambique and neighbouring countries.

The company will provide management, pilotage, mooring, crewing and maintenance services, as well as training and developing local staff over 10 years.
