Komatiport/Ressano Garcia, the main land border crossing between Mozambique and South Africa, is to remain open 24 hours a day until 17 April to facilitate the movement of workers and tourists between the two countries over Easter. The decision, announced by Mozambican customs officials on Tuesday, will be of particular benefit to the tens of thousands of Mozambican migrant labourers employed in South Africas giant mining industry who want to return to their families for the holiday period. The border post is normally open 06.00-19.00.
