Road construction in Addis Ababa suspended.
CRBC Addis Engineering Plc, the Ethiopian subsidiary of the state-owned construction company Chinese Bridge and Road Corporation, has suspended work on three major road projects in the capital due to the non-payment of dues by the Addis Ababa Road Authority, its client, for finished work. The stop concerns the nine-kilometre link between Meskel Square and the Kaliti roundabout to the south, the road running from the Coca Cola bottling plant through Abinet to Teklehaimanot and phase three of the Ring Road project connecting Wingate Interchange to Addisu Gebeya, which are being constructed at a total cost of over US$40 million.
