People living in the Western Cape are to expect severe weather conditions over the next couple of days, meteorologists have said. Over 50 mm of rainfall is expected in Cape Town and across the province between 23 and 24 June. There could also be winds of up to 85km/h, snow on the mountains and rough seas. The city authorities have told residents to stay away from seafront areas and warned people living close to the beach to be prepared for storm damage to their properties.
