Sujimoto plans the tallest residential building in Lagos

25-storey luxury apartment block to be built on Lagos Island.

Nigerian construction and real estate company Sujimoto has unveiled plans for a 25-storey luxury building which is set to be the tallest residential building model in Lagos.

The company says the building, located on the exclusive Bourdillion Road on Lagos Island, is named “Lorenzo By Sujimoto” after Lorenzo de' Medici, the powerful Italian statesman and leading patron of the Renaissance.

Sujimoto director Sijibomi Ogundele said his firm sought inspiration for the luxury penthouse development by visiting more than 40 penthouse buildings in Lagos and Abuja, as well as travelling to Dubai, Tokyo and New York.

Built on a 3,800-sqm site, the building will be fully automated according to Ogundele, who said that all appliances including curtains, air conditioning and entertainment systems will be operated by central command "from anywhere in the world."

Each penthouse will boast a garden, swimming pool, six master bedrooms, a gym, office and movie room, all of which will be private.

A key feature of the luxury tower block will be the Eye of Bourdillion, a semi-Olympic sized swimming pool on the 16th floor.
