Tanzania has seen off competition from Kenya, Ghana and South Africa to be designated host nation for the 20th edition of the World Economic Forum on Africa next year. The meeting will take place in Dar es Salaam form 5-7 May.

Over the three days business leaders, politicians, civil society and media representatives and academics with a stake in Africa will come together to discuss the main challenges facing the continent and how to improve the lives of its citizens.

The 2009 edition of the annual meeting was held in Cape Town in June.
