Virgin Airways to cease London-Nairobi flights

Air carrier Virgin Atlantic (VS) is to scrap its London-Nairobi service from 23 September. The airline cited increasing fuel costs, rising aviation taxes in Britain and insufficient demand over the past five years as the reasons for its decision.

VS president Sir Richard Branson also blamed "poor time slots" and said he hoped his company could return "should the economic situation change.
