Eligible voters in Mozambique now have until 15 March to get their name on the electoral roll in readiness for upcoming local government, provincial and general elections.

Voter registration was originally scheduled to end in mid-December in view of provincial elections on 16 January. However, an extension became necessary due to technical and logistical problems experienced by registrars and accusations by the opposition party RENAMO of bias in favour of the ruling FRELIMO during the campaign.
