The Cape Town government is urging residents to cut back on the use of water in a bid to conserve the precious resource. The measures, incorporated in two bylaws passed in 2006, include a permanent ban on watering gardens between 10.00 and 16.00, restrictions on the use of potable water and compulsory water audits for major consumers.
