Ghana celebrates World Tourism Day at the Tafi-Atome monkey sanctuary in Hohoe in the Volta region north of Accra on 27 September.

Under the theme Tourism: Linking Cultures, Ghana will showcase its culture and tourist attractions to both domestic and international tourists. Activities include tours to tourist sites, folk music and dance competition, exhibition of artifacts, handicraft, fine art, local food bazaar.

The ministry for tourism said that in 2010 tourism contributed about 6.2 per cent of the country
