21st European Film Festival Nairobi

11-27 May 2012. This European Film Festival is the longest running film festival in Nairobi. On its 21st edition it foresees the screening of 18 movies, including some award winning films, from 16 European countries. Most of the movies tell the history and the socio-cultural changes in Europe during the 21st century.

Among the others Italy participates to this festival with the movie La prima cosa bella (The First Beautiful Thing), directed by Paolo Virzì, which won the famous Italian David di Donatello Award for Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Actor as well as the Silver Ribbon for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Costume. This movie will be screened on 21 May at 17.30 and on 27 May at 19.30.

This festival was inaugurated by the French Cultural Centre in 1992 and it soon registered the participation of many of the European Embassies in Kenya as well as some guest countries from Europe.
