29 May-31 Dec 2010. This exhibition on African dinosaurs was displayed at Iziko for the first time two years ago and now becomes permanent. The focus is on the evolution of dinosaurs on the African continent, starting with some of the oldest fossils discovered in South Africa and ending with some of the largest species discovered in Niger and Morocco. The exhibits include a huge skeleton of a herbivorous dinosaur called Jobaria, the massive skull of the carnivorous dinosaur Carcharodontosaurus and new acquisitions such as the skeleton of a weird carnivorous dinosaur called Suchomimus. There are also supporting fossils and explanatory dioramas of dinosaur scenes.
