Akoo Show Choir

This concert is performed by Akoo Show Choir, a male voice ensemble founded in Winneba, Ghana, by Fancis Baffoe in 2012. On this occasion these talented young singers will stage its repertoire, which includes classic music by Bach and Handel as well as gospels, jazz and choral music from South Africa, Kenya and obviously Ghana. In the founder’s mother tongue, the Fanti, Akoo means parrot. Like parrots, these young musicians will use their voices and bodies to give some colourful interpretations of modern and more traditional African music.
