Al Khawaga & Johnny Stories, 2011

This exhibition, entitled Al Khawaga & Johnny Stories 2011, displays a series of works by Hala El-Koussy as well as a collection of archival images, original photographs, documents, advertisements and books, which tell the history of the relationship between the local inhabitants and the foreigners in Cairo.

Cairo is depicted in its contentious relationship to its colonial history. The movie In Search of a City, which will be projected on this occasion, takes the viewer on a journey in modern day Cairo.
