Alda Costa Collection

Works by Mozambique artists in the collection of Alda Costa, assembled during her career as art historian, educator and museum expert.

The exhibition coincides with the publication of the book “Arte e Artistas em Moçambique: Diferentes Gerações e Modernidade” edited by Costa and Mariana Camarate.

Costa, who is one of the foremost experts and promoters of Mozambique contemporary art, was behind the opening of the Instituto Superior de Artes e Cultura (ISAC), the academy of fine arts in Maputo, in 2009. She has been the director of the museums’ department of the ministry of culture since 1986.
