Lagos hosts AFRIMA awards ceremony.
15 Nov. Award winning South African Ladysmith Black Mambazo heads the award evening with 162 other stars attending the ceremony in Lagos. Ladysmith Black Mambazo has won four Grammys (1988, 2004, 2009, 2013) and this year is the 55th anniversary of the all-male group.
There are 30 awards for the men and women nominees divided into 11 regional and 19 continental categories. There are also awards for best albums. The nominees in each category were announced in July and the winners will be announced on 15 November. The winners are selected by a special voting academy as well as the public. The award ceremony, which takes place at the Eko Convention Center, is to be broadcast to 84 countries.
