10-18 Nov 2009. This exhibition brings together the work of 16 artists from 12 African and European countries for a creative rethinking of the function of materials. The exhibition will be followed by a symposium on topics affecting the arts in daily life, such as the survival of women artsis in the world of art and the role of the press in the promotion of art. The work on show is the result of an eight-day creative workshop led by Marina Dempf, a German arts and crafts expert as well as the technical adviser and curator of this event. The participating artists are from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Liberia, Norway, Nigeria, Senegal, The Netherlands and Togo.
