29 June-2 July 2006. Over 50 artisans from all over the country will be taking part in the second edition of the arts and crafts fair organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in conjunction with the Mozambican education and culture ministry, Aid to Artisans, the national museum of art and Fair Trade Mozambique. This year the fair has the title Celebrating the artisans of Mozambique and there will be displays of sculpture, jewellery, batiks, metal work and decorative objects. Examples of craftsmanship from other parts of southern Africa will also be on show. There will be a programme of seminars and discussions accompanying the fair examining the state of craftsmanship in Mozambique and constraints to its development.
