The ninth Asian film festival screens work from China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, South Korea, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates.
One of the films showing this year is Omar, written and directed by Hany Abu-Assad. It was screened at the 2013 Cannes film festival in the Film of Certain Regard category and won the Jury Prize. It was selected as the Palestinian entry for the 2014 Oscars in the best foreign film category and was among the five finalists.
The Asian film festival is organised by the Asian Diplomats' Cultural Forum and films are screened at the New World Cinema.
