27 September - 2 October 2010. Held annually since 1981, Bagamoyo Arts Festival takes place in the Bagamoyo College of Arts in the coastal city of Bagamoyo, the 'arts capital of Tanzania'.
Organised by Taasisi ya Sanaa na Utamaduni, the festival attracts international visitors who both spectate and participate in traditional dance, acrobatic displays, sculpture exhibits, reggae and hiphop concerts and art workshops. The College of Arts acts as a meeting place and cultural centre for local artistic co-operatives.
