Baxter Dance Film Festival 2012

8–11 August 2012. This edition of the Baxter Dance Film Festival foresees a rich programme of screenings of international dance films.

On 8 August it shows four short dance films, which are part of the Point Taken 2 project. On screen are Spiegelingen by Marinus Groothof and Dunja Jocic, One False Move by Clara van Gool and Ria Marks, Evolutie van Soorten (Evolution of Species) by Esther Rots/Dan Geesin and Melissa Ellberger, Hypnogogia: The Borderland State by Frank Scheffer and Muhanad Rasheed.

On 9 August on screen will be Sacred Monsters, directed and choreographed by Akram Khan, performed by Sylvie Guillem and Akram Khan.

On 10 August on show will be Of Heart and Courage, directed by the Spanish director Arantxa Aguirre.

On 11 August Wayne McGregor: Across the Threshold, offers a profile of the multi award-winning British choreographer, produced and directed by Nigel Wattis. On the same date on screen will be a selection of student films, produced during some workshops held by Jeanette Ginslov, famous performer, choreographer and artistic director in South Africa.

Screenings start at 19.30.
