Cairo video festival to show video art and experimental films.

10-25 Dec. A selection of films by more than 116 artists and 38 countries organised by the collective Medrar for Contemporary Art.

Screenings include The Scream by Marina Abramovic (Serbia 2014), Three Love Songs by Adel Abdin (Iraq 2010), War by Vincent Borcard (Switzerland 2014-2015) as well as works by more than 10 Egyptians. Showings are every other day at Zawya Cinema and the French Institute in Mounira.

Medrar first started as an artists' collective to show video art in 2005, at a time when there was still a shortage of viewing spaces in the city. For more information about the artists and the screening programme see the Mderar website.
