23-24 October 2010. Cape Town's sixteenth annual International Kite Festival has as this year's theme: Uplifting Mind and Body.

The biggest kite festival in Africa, it attracts over 20,000 visitors including some of the world's best kite fliers. In addition to kite flying, the festival teaches the art of kite making, has a craft market, and focuses on the entertainment of children.

The Boomerang Edu-Kite initiative unites young children from primary schools and special needs schools in a competition to decorate kites and take part in the mass flying event.

The festival is hosted by Cape Mental Health who raise funds to support their mental health service in disadvantaged communities as well as highlighting the connection between physical and mental well-being.

Both days: 10.00-18.00
