Cape Town summer symphony season

The Cape Philarmonic Orchestra (CPO), one of South Africa's three symphony orchestras, performs a series of concerts every Thursday at City Hall until the end of November.

31 Oct. Conrad van Alphen conducts the young Giorgian painist Mariam Batsashvili playing Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák.

7 Nov. Award-winning Chinese conductor Perry So conducts South Korean violinist Yura Lee playing music by Berlioz, Bruch and Glazunov.

14 Nov. Perry So conducts French cellist Jérôme Pernoo playing music by Faure and Schumann.

21 Nov. German-born conductor Bernard Gueller conducts master-class violinist Daniel Rowland playing music by Mozart, Elgar and Sibelius.

28 Nov. Exerpts from Verdi and Wagner operas by singers of the Verdi and Wagner Societies of South Africa with the Voices of Cape Town Choir conducted by Bernard Gueller to mark the bi-centenary of both composers.
