Chika bet versus Condominium

In the continuing debate on “Changing Addis”, focusing on urban development in the city, the Alliance Ethio-Française and EiABS (Ethiopian Institute of Architecture, Building Construction and City Development) have organised the screening of two documentaries Disappearing Spaces and Emerging Spaces.

 These will be followed by a discussion on three subjects: What can be preserved of the “slums” of Addis; can the old and new coexist; is mass housing a threat or an opportunity?
