Contemporary dance festival Maputo

Performances of this contemporary dance festival showcase the results of the two months of work with schools in and around Maputo.

The programme, which began in May, has focused on contemporary dance education for secondary school children, including lectures, workshops and live performances.

The Festcom Festival de Dança Contemporânea is the brainchild of Maputo-born dancer Calisto Zacarias Manhique who started dancing at the age of 11.

The dance programme takes place in the Teatro Avenida.
