3 March 2006. Twelve promising new Ghanaian writers present their work at a public reading organised by the British Council as part of its international Crossing Borders initiative. The authors are all participants in a writing workshop in Accra (27 Feb-3 March) led by British poet, novelist and psychologist Charles Fernyhough, whose work includes the novel The Auctioneer (1999). Crossing Borders is a literature project involving tutors from the United Kingdom and students from several African countries aimed at promoting creative writing through interaction on-line, through email, dedicated chat rooms and weblogs. Besides Ghana, Crossing Borders is also operational in Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Malawi. For more information see www.crossingborders-africanwriting.org. 18.00.
