15 February 2011. This initiative entitled Fana-Wogi was launched by Goethe Insitut and the Modern Art Museum / Gebre Kristos Desta Center in 2010 and consists of an open call for emerging Ethiopian contemporary artists.

Its aim is to provide a platform for the promotion of talented local artists, who have innovative approaches. The eligible artists must be younger than 35 and be committed to drawing, installations, new media, painting, photography, sculpture and video.

Their works will be judged by a professional jury, which will select eight artists, who will display their works in a group exhibition from 19 May to 2 June 2011. Each artist selected will participate in a public panel discussion on the exhibition.
